Which of the following is NOT a good reason to put a telescope into space?

in defense of D if you interpret "to get closer to the stars" as a metaphor, you are getting closer to the stars! any advance in astronomy and space exploration is going to get us closer to the stars, if you interpret "to get closer to the stars" literally in the test makers mind this is not a good reason to launch a tellescope for above listed reasons. obviously its a trick question and D is the correct answer but i really disagree with the test writers methods all he's testing is are you awake?
