What are my options for private student loans?

My fiancee's Financial Aid has just been cut off due to him failing a cl. He has to have 8 ping cles for his Financial Aid to take affect again, yet we need $1000 to pay out of pocket for his next cl and are flat broke with low credit scores. We need a loan and don't have a co-signer with good enough credit. We can't afford to have another bill go to collections. What can we do about this?
