The concept of God is totally illogical, so why believe?

the beginning of time was the beginning of our universe. if god existed before the beginning of our universe (because he somehow initiated it) he would technically have been in existence for ever. Also, something probably did create god, but not in our universe or during our universe's time. and, even if god weren't real, the same question goes to how our universe was created and what created it, and then what created that thing that created our universe, and so on and so forth. It doesn't matter if you add god to that picture, we still face the same questions every day.
