A profound question about relationships?

Please tell me..i have always wondered why "mean" "jerk" "player" guys have more popularity and success with women at times and frequently when women often claim that a devoted man is something they know how to appreciate..i know alot of people ask my question but what is the explanation,there is such phenomenon..please share your opinions..is it really stupid to expect "justice" in the dating arena?..
