Are their any street rules to abide by in Oakland CA e.g. "no snitching" to protect yourself on the street?

EVERY part of oakland is not a big gang you know. there are only a few sections that are dangerous, so it depends on where you will be. just use your own instincts if you are in a bad neighborhood, but i hope that you don't think that all of oakland is bad, because it really is not.
